Do I need an account?

No. Box Retriever works without signing up, and everything stays on your phone.

What happens when someone without the app scans a label?

Their camera opens boxretriever.app and shows the bin's list as of the day you printed the label. Reprint after a big repack so the list is up to date.

Which labels can I print?

Full, half or quarter page on plain paper (cut along the dashed lines), Avery 5163 (2 × 4 in, 10 per sheet) or Avery 5160 (1 × 2⅝ in, 30 per sheet). Tap Print or Save, then Print to send it to your printer, or Save or Share PDF.

The photo suggestions got something wrong.

Fix the name or untick it before you tap Add. A straight-on photo in good light works best, especially for book spines.

It counted the wrong number of books.

Fix the count with − and + before you save. Dust jackets and photos on covers can look like extra books.

How do I move to a new phone?

On the old phone, go to Settings › Save a backup and save the file somewhere you can reach from the new phone, such as Files, iCloud Drive or Google Drive. On the new phone, go to Settings › Restore a backup and choose that file.

What does Plus include?

As many bins and items as you need, inventory PDFs, and values with a total. It's a one-time purchase of $9.99. To get it back on a new phone, tap Restore purchase in Settings.
